Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 30 September 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Resumena (resumena.me), including the website, resume and cover letter builder, templates, and related features (together, the "Service"), operated by the developers and operators of Resumena ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be able to form a legally binding contract to use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of yourself, you confirm you are old enough to do so under the laws that apply to you. The Service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

2. What the Service is — and isn't

Resumena is a self-service tool for building and formatting a resume and, optionally, a matching cover letter. Every word of content — your work history, education, skills, summary, and cover letter body — is written by you. The Service does not generate, write, verify, fact-check, or edit the substance of your content on your behalf, and nothing in the Service should be read as doing so.

The Service does not guarantee, promise, or imply that using it — or any particular template, design, or feature — will result in an interview, a job offer, employment, or any other outcome. Hiring decisions are made entirely by third parties (employers, recruiters, applicant-tracking systems) outside our control.

3. Your account and your content

Signing in only asks for a name and email address, which — like every resume, cover letter, and photo you create — is stored in your own browser's local storage. We do not operate a server-side database of user accounts or resume content, and we do not see, receive, or store this information ourselves. This also means:

  • You are responsible for your own backups. Clearing your browser data, switching browsers or devices, using private/incognito mode, or uninstalling your browser will permanently delete anything you built — we cannot recover it.
  • You are solely responsible for the accuracy, truthfulness, and legality of everything you enter — including representations about your employment history, qualifications, nationality, or visa/residency status. We take no responsibility for consequences arising from inaccurate, false, or misleading content you choose to submit as part of your own resume or cover letter.
  • You retain all rights to the content you write. We claim no ownership over your personal data, your resume text, or your photo.

4. Cost

The Service is provided free of charge. There is no fee to build, edit, preview, or download your resume or cover letter, and no limit on how many documents you create. We do not collect payment details. If this ever changes, we will update these Terms before any charge applies, and you will never be charged without first agreeing to it.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to, and not to attempt to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes another person's rights;
  • upload any file that contains malicious code, or is not genuinely your own photo;
  • probe, scan, or attempt to bypass the Service's security, payment gate, or access controls;
  • scrape, copy, resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service, its templates, or its underlying code;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where applicable law expressly permits it;
  • impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with one;
  • interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Service or the infrastructure it runs on.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.

6. Intellectual property

The Service — including its software, design templates, layouts, branding, graphics, and text (excluding content you write yourself) — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service to build your own resume and cover letter, and to download and use the resulting PDF for your own personal, non-commercial purpose of seeking employment. No other rights are granted.

7. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers to function, including a web font provider (Google Fonts) and hosting/CDN infrastructure (Cloudflare). Each operates under its own terms and privacy practices, which we do not control and are not responsible for. Interruptions, errors, or outages originating from any third-party provider are outside our control and are not our responsibility.

8. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, accurate, or error-free. You use the Service, and rely on any document you create with it, entirely at your own risk.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we (and our founders, developers, and operators) will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, loss of profit, or loss of employment opportunity, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Service — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the total amount you actually paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 10, whichever is greater.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless us and our founders, developers, and operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your use of the Service; (b) the content you create, including any inaccurate or false statement within it; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any right of a third party.

11. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice, and without liability to you for doing so. We may also update these Terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date above will reflect the latest revision. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the United Arab Emirates.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
